It does have the look of original

I recently replaced it with a slightly cleaner one so it is time to move this along

There is some white writing on the back on one end

Pre War German Briefcase medium This same pin appears onNice pre war type German briefcase in fairly good condition. The closure has some corrosion and the right side closure is a little bent, but still functions. This style of briefcase is more typical of the 1930's and earlier, but they do pop up very often in original photos. It has a normal center clasp with two outer closures of the type normally found on bicycle tool pouches. Some wear around the edges, but still in decent, useable condition.
